The Poker Experience activity uses the Texas Hold’em variant as a vehicle for socialising, learning and having fun.
The fascination that Texas Hold’em exerts on the general public is due to the intelligent use of the different tactical elements that, when explained well, it allows similarities to be drawn into the business world and the skills or soft-skills that are acquired at a poker table.
Throughout the session, we analyse the hands played in order to link them to certain corporate skills, such as analytical capacity, a panoramic vision of the business, decision-making in changing VUCA environments, self-control, budgetary control, analysis of positions of strength in a negotiation, emotional intelligence, knowledge of competitors, creativity or the search for common objectives (in the case of a team tournament).
Each player learns from an expert which elements of poker they can apply in their professional life.
However, you don’t need to know how to play poker to benefit from this experience. The activity begins with a simple explanation of the rules of the game and the handout of the possible move sets of the table.
After a couple of test hands, where the players observe their behaviour and attitudes of the other participants, a tournament begins where each player will learn from an expert which elements of poker can be applied in their daily professional life. And in each “hand analysis” we explain behaviours and attitudes, conscious or unconscious, that affect daily performance.
All this in an environment that is usually new to the participants, which is useful to take them out of their comfort zone. In a Casino Cirsa Valencia Poker Experience session you will have your own table and professional dealer, as well as the expert who directs the game and the skills analysis.
